Triumph Bank is proud to announce its continued efforts in supporting the growth in the greater Memphis community by extending its reach now to the Frayser Community Development Corporation (“Frayser CDC”) to expand its headquarters building at 3684 North Watkins Street.

The Frayser CDC has been in its current location for 11 years. Their office was originally purchased with help from City of Memphis Department of Housing & Community Development. It was dubbed the Frayser Resource Center. The Frayser CDC committed to making the building available to other community groups to use for meetings and functions. In the last 11 years, the staff and work of the Frayser CDC has grown dramatically to a team of 9 staff members, as well as 3 student interns.

The new expansion to the offices of Frayser CDC will create a new, larger community room to be used not only by the CDC for larger meetings, but by other groups as well. The CDC’s Home Buyer Education Classes, conducted monthly, will be able to grow from a capacity of 22 to 35. The Frayser Community Association – the neighborhood’s volunteer resident association – will be able to hold meetings there more easily. The new meeting room, which will have its own rest room, will be able to be locked off from the main building, allowing CDC staff to go home while leaving community groups in the new facility to continue with evening meetings. In the past, other functions – such as free tax preparation services – have been turned down by the CDC due to lack of space. That will change as more services will be able to be offered at the CDC’s location to the community.

Additionally, the CDC’s current meeting room will be subdivided into 3 new offices, allowing better space for staff to operate. Most of these spaces will have doors that can close – allowing for the privacy that is required for certain counseling sessions. Frayser CDC Executive Director, Steve Lockwood, states: “Obviously, the support of Triumph Bank has been critical for this endeavor. We are very grateful to Triumph Bank, Triumph Community Development Foundation and Hilliard Crews for their generous support.”
