Triumph Community Development Foundation is proud to continue its strong partnership with AngelStreet Memphis. AngelStreet provides an after-school safe haven for girls, ranging from 8-18, through mentorship and music. Since 2013, 300 young women have been changed by the empowering forces they’ve found at AngelStreet.
Triumph’s Foundation grant directly supports musical programming education, the sector of AngelStreet that conducts the auditions held every fall. The audition process determines participants’ music proficiency levels. All AngelStreet members participate in the General Choir, which performs 6-8 shows a semester around the Greater Memphis area. The invitation to join CREW, the organization’s advanced, leadership-focused ensemble, is extended to young women with proficient musical knowledge. CREW performs an additional 3-4 times a semester at pop-up shows and events featuring AngelStreet.
AngelStreet’s dedicated team invests in their young women’s potential as performers on the stage and leaders off the stage as well. During their afternoons at AngelStreet Memphis, young women discover their purpose. In addition to the many lessons learned from the strong structural framework of choirs themselves, the organization sponsors field trips around the city. The non-profit recently launched “PowerPartners,” a new mentor partnership program that connects girls with successful Memphis women to discuss everything from everyday life to major life themes.
AngelStreet Memphis is the sole female-centered, music-focused after-school program that remains free in the Greater Memphis area. The Triumph Community Development Foundation is proud to support its good work, ensuring it has ample support in developing young Memphis women into talented musicians, leaders, and citizens.
