Meet our 2018 Q3 Employee of the Quarter

Meet our 2018 Q3 Employee of the Quarter, Senior Accountant & Banking Officer, Matt Day! Read on to learn how Matt’s outstanding contributions have helped Triumph grow this quarter.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

MD: I am a lifelong Memphian, Ole Miss Graduate, and one of three brothers. I love spending time with my wife, Nicole, my family and friends, and my dogs. In my free time, I enjoy any day at the lake, snow skiing, getting up early, drinking too much coffee, going to the gym, grilling out, the thought of hitting a good golf shot (don’t think it’s happened yet!), Thanksgiving, fishing, and unexpected gifts.

Describe your typical day at Triumph.

MD: There is no such thing as a typical day in the Accounting Department. You can certainly try and plan your day, but it will never end up as you intended. We have always been a small department, so we pride ourselves on the quality of work and meeting our deadlines.

This recent, aggressive growth that Triumph is experiencing has certainly provided additional volume, ensuring there is always something for our team to accomplish. However, there are the ever-present duties that include but are not limited to: Recons, GL Activity & Analysis, invoices, wires, loan costs, and on and on. Anyway, no one really wants to read about the typical day in Accounting!

What’s the best part of your job?

MD: My co-workers make this place special to me. This is a direct result of the caliber of people I have the pleasure of interacting with. There are so many smart, kind, friendly, and good-hearted people that make it easy to show up each day. When you are an environment such as this, it’s hard not to be excited. Triumph has fostered an internal sense of kindness and goodwill within the company that only makes us stronger. I want to thank all of the people who have helped me learn either directly or indirectly!

Here are a few reasons why Matt was named Employee of the Quarter:

“Matt is probably one of the nicest people I have met. Since he has been at Triumph Bank I have seen him multiple times be more than willing to help not only the people in his department but anyone that needs his help. It would be hard to find someone more dedicated or committed to their job.”

“Matt is always willing to help when needed. He always follows up on whatever he’s doing for you in a timely manner. You’re the best, Matt! Thanks!”

Thanks for all that you’ve done to help Triumph grow, Matt!
