The Triumph Community Development Foundation (TCDF), founded in 2017, serves to provide funding for organizations that serve their communities through education, financial literacy, or economic development. When TCDF received the Harwood Center’s application, we immediately knew that we were a great fit for the wonderful work that they do with children who have developmental disabilities.
As they explained in their application, “Harwood Center is an early-intervention agency for children (ages 18 months – 6 years) with developmental disabilities. We provide dual services: specialized preschool education and behavioral therapy.” Leading behavioral development research has found time and time again that if children with developmental disabilities, such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and more, receive the appropriate therapy and attention before they ever attend a conventional school, they are significantly more likely to be fully functional and able to reach their full potential.
We at the Triumph Community Development Foundation were honored to contribute to the outstanding efforts of the Harwood Center by supporting their classroom at Aspire Hanley Elementary School in the Orange Mound neighborhood. Our team looks forward to serving those sweet students and their teachers throughout the year.
