TRIUMPH NAMED #2 MEMPHIS-AREA SBA LENDER
As part of a May 27, 2011 Memphis Business Journal article, Triumph Bank was listed as the number two Memphis area Small Business Administration (SBA) lender.
Titled, Top of the List: Recovery Act Job Creation in Tennessee, the article focuses on job creation projects under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, based on peak number of jobs created or retained. MBJ revealed Tennessee’s top 5 job creation projects and the full list of the top 25 Recovery Act job creators. In addition, both the state’s and Memphis-area’s top 25 SBA lenders were listed, as well as Memphis-area companies leading the way in private sector job growth.
The list including Triumph ranked lenders by dollar amount of loans in the Memphis area between October 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010. During that period, Triumph closed SBA loans with a total original balance of $3,156,000 in Shelby County. Only Six Bridges Capital Corp. ranked higher with $3,457,000, yet more than half of those loans were made in DeSoto County, MS.
“Jeff Yearwood, Senior VP Commercial Lending, has done an excellent job leading the charge with Triumph’s SBA loan production during the last several years,” said Ed Gentry, Triumph’s Executive VP/Senior Commercial Lender.
President Will Chase added, “Jeff and his staff deserve a lot of congratulations. This is bigger than benefiting our bank, it’s an investment in the economic development of our community, if not our entire state.”
